We are about a month away from Hells Canyon Days, June 6 through June 8th, and you know what that means...Our Annual “All You Can Eat Taco Feed” will be held on the first evening of the two-day event. On June 6th, from 5 to 7:00 p.m., the Cambridge-Midvale-Goodrich Senior Center will host this popular fundraiser. I’m letting you know now, so you can plan to attend. The cost of the dinner will be $15. Children 12 and under eat for $6, and children five and under eat for free.
The dinner will include soft tacos, refried beans, Spanish rice, every condiment known to man for tacos, dessert, and a beverage. The food is excellent, the price is right, and you will be helping our senior center continue to provide programs and services benefiting our local seniors. Mark your calendars today, and I will see you on June 6, 2025, between 5 and 7:00 p.m.!
We are just cruising here during May; we will do our regular activities until that big fundraiser in June. We all need to rest up for that one.
Menu: Wednesday, May 14: BBQ pork, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans, Roll, Mixed Vegetables, Pears, and Berry Crisp. Friday, May 16: Sloppy Joes, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Garden Salad, Mixed Fruit, and Dessert. Wednesday, May 21: Teriyaki Chicken, Rice, Green Beans, Green Salad, Roll, Mandarin Oranges, and Banana Bars.
Well, no one called me about the quote from last week. Of course, I could not have remembered it correctly, but if not, it was close. Remember the show “Dragnet”? Jack Web played a detective on that show, and that was one of his recurring lines. I used to watch it every week—another piece of trivia from my life.
Until next time, stay hydrated and cool in the heat. It will be summer in a few more weeks. This little blip of heat is practice for the “really big show” coming our way in June, July, and August.
