Taco Feed a Success

Our Cambridge Commercial Club did it again with an awesome Hells Canyon Days Celebration this weekend. And because of that, our All-You-Can-Eat Taco Feed was a big success too.

We at the Senior Center appreciate all the men and women who’ve been working hard since last year to put this event together. It gave local businesses a great boost to kick off the busy summer and fall months, which will help us navigate the slower winter and spring seasons. Plus, it’s a great way for local nonprofits and clubs to raise some funds.

A big shout out to the Cambridge Commercial Club — you guys rock! Thanks for everything you do for our town and everyone in it.

Many thanks go out to our volunteers who worked at our Taco Feed. They are in no particular order: Diane Russell, Jean Fant, Dana Munden, Sandy Nudo, Dale and Sandi Barton, Lola Hartnoll, Charlie Caruso, George Hyer, Rex Hall, Russ Mattox, Rick Wemmer, and Lynda Yoder. We needed every one of you. Thank you to each of you for your time and effort in making this fundraiser a success. We could not have done it without you.

A special thank you to the Voyen-Moore Ranch, which so generously donated the fabulous T-shirts we volunteers wore for the occasion. I always wanted to get something special for the volunteers to wear, and a chance meeting at Windy Acres Design Shop led to this wonderful donation of T-shirts for our fundraiser.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the Windy Acres Design shop for donating the artwork that adorned our T-shirts. It was Perfect! Thank you! Also, thank you to Rex Hall, who donated the last $105 to complete the transaction for the extra T-shirts we ordered.

If I missed anyone, please accept my apologies.

Wednesday, June 11th, is our regularly scheduled Board meeting at 1:30 p.m. It’s also our Father’s Day dinner here at the senior center. It’s Chicken Fried Steak! One of my personal favorites. I hope to see you there.

Menu: Friday, June 13: Turkey and Dumplings Casserole with peas and carrots, Garden Salad, Apricots, and Ice Cream sandwiches. Wednesday, June 18: Beef Stroganoff over egg noodles, Garden Salad, Wheat Roll, Mixed Vegetables, Mandarin Oranges, and No-Bake Cookies. Friday, June 20: Pizza! Choose from Canadian Bacon, Combination, or Chicken Alfredo. Tossed green Salad, Mandarin Oranges, and No-Bake Cookies.
