Bryan Kieth Poland unexpectedly passed away at home on April 29th, 2025.
Born on September 25, 1960, he was raised around the world of Appaloosa horses and rodeo, where he was a bull rider. It was at a rodeo that he met the love of his life, Sue. They were married in July of 1982 and lived in the Carson Valley of Nevada, where he worked construction while Sue taught agriculture.
Together, they lived a life around the outdoors, camping and fishing. Bryan was known to be an accomplished trout fisherman, exploring the back country of the Sierra Nevada and the Rocky Mountains. In 1993, they moved to Cambridge, where he continued to work construction and doing concrete for bridges. He loved to hunt mushrooms and make cinnamon rolls from Rosie Gibson’s secret recipe as well as cook the tri tip for numerous Cambridge FFA chapter banquets and later in Homedale.
As his health declined, he found two new passions – driving silage trucks for local farmers and crab fishing in Waldport, Oregon. He loved to drive the boat and take people fishing and crabbing.
He is survived by his wife Sue, his brother Jeff, and a niece and nephew as well as the current 4 legged children Ziggie and Cinder.
A celebration of life will be held at the Fellowship Hall of the Cambridge Baptist Church on May 17th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon patterned after his famous Banquet meal. Bryan was a simple man, so dress casual and be prepared to share your favorite story amongst friends!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cambridge FFA Chapter Alumni, where he volunteered his time for almost 20 years.
