Jack Lee Toothman

Jack Lee Toothman was born October 12, 1949, and passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 75. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, daughter, niece, and family friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cristi, his daughter and son-in-law Jacky and David Withem, siblings, Okey Toothman, Linda Huffman, Sandee Damon, and granddaughter Faith Withem. He was preceded in death by his son Patrick Keith Toothman and nephew Blake Toothman.

Jack was born in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, but grew up mostly in Idaho and California. He graduated from Fontana High School in 1967 and entered the Army in 1970. He and Cristi married in 1971 just days before he left for Viet Nam. He was a Viet Nam veteran who came home and went to work to support his growing family. He worked at Northrup in Radio Services in Southern California. He enjoyed going to Dodger games and having barbecues in the backyard with his family and playing croquet. After the family moved to Idaho in 1994, he joined the Midvale VFW where he eventually became Post Commander and in 2017 he ran for and became Mayor of Cambridge in 2018. He was a lifelong auto mechanic and auto enthusiast. That passion spilled over to tractors once in Idaho. He loved nothing more than to have family and friends over for a barbecue on the 4th of July and to give the kids (or adults) a ride on a tractor. He also enjoyed raising ducks and especially geese.

The family is holding his celebration of life on April 12th at 1:00 p.m., at the Cambridge fairgrounds in the Exhibit Hall. A potluck wake will follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to a local veteran’s charity.
