Ruth Emma Dearborn Robbins, 93, of Weiser died peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2025 after suffering a stroke.
Although the Dearborns were residents of Ontario, Oregon, Ruth was born on July 8, 1931 in Corvallis, Oregon while her father was attending summer school for teachers at Oregon State University. She was the second born child of five children of Oris D. and Margaret E. Dearborn. Ruth attended Ontario schools, Conklin Grade School, and graduated from Ontario High School as Salutatorian in 1949. Ruth is past Honored Queen of Bethel #25 Ontario Job Daughters where she was a lifetime member. Ruth received the Oregon State FHA Degree.
She married her high school sweetheart, Austin Brock Robbins, Jr. on June 12, 1949. After marriage they settled in New Plymouth and they later bought 80 acres in Ontario Lincoln Heights (Cairo) area.
Ruth was a valued 4-H leader in the Cairo area where she helped teach many young girls how to cook, can and sew. Ruth is a past member and officer of the Ontario Patch and Chat Club and Cambridge Valley View Progressive Club. In 1965 Ruth and Brock moved to a 640 acre ranch in Cambridge, Idaho. Ruth was honored with the Cambridge First Baptist Church Honored Mother of the Year in 2001. Together they raised their four children along with making many memories with future generations. Ruth was a Cambridge school cook for 3 years where she also served as a substitute teacher and bus driver. In 2004 Ruth and Brock retired from the ranch and moved to Weiser, Idaho where they have enjoyed watching their great grandchildren excel in numerous sports activities.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Brock Robbins, parents, one sister, Mary Ellen Bollen, one brother, Oris Daniel Dearborn, Jr. and son-in-law, Don Henderson. She is survived by two siblings Dr. Dorr G. Dearborn (Joyce) and Margaret Stenson (Glenn). Also surviving are daughter Carrie Henderson, of Gresham, Oregon, daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Doyle Lawrence of Lewiston, Idaho, son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Lori Robbins, of Weiser, Idaho, son and daughter-in-law Wes and Kathy Robbins, of Pace, Florida, 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 29, 2025 at the Weiser Community Church, graveside to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weiser Community Church, Kitchen Remodel Project, 240 E Main St, Weiser, ID 83672. Condolences may be sent to the family at Haren-Wood.com
