40th Anniversary of ‘The Fosdick’ August 2 & 3

The Fosdick Benefit Golf Tournament is celebrating 40 years of fundraising this August. Their annual dinner and auction is scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd and the annual golf tournament will be held on Sunday, August 3rd. The organization, that blossomed from their first seed of kindness for one hardship case, has raised nearly $842,000 for New Meadows organizations including $117,000 for school scholarships alone.
This year’s scholarship applicants include the City of New Meadows Early Learning Foundation, Fosdick Scholarship Committee, Idaho Sled Dog Challenge, Ignite Idaho, Meadows Valley Community Center, Meadows Valley Planet Youth/Youth Advocacy Coalition, MV Public Library, MV School (Art & Music Departments and Playground Equipment), New Meadows Farmer’s Market, and Payette Lakes Ski Club.
You can help by making a donation, sponsoring a Tournament Hole, Fur Baby or Grand Baby Hole, and attending the events. The deadline to donate auction items, enter the tournament, or sign up as a hole sponsor is Friday, July 25. This year’s fundraising goal is $85,000 and you can help fund important organizations, community improvements, and student scholarships.
Fearless leader of “The Fosdick,” Tom Anderson, told us they received a donation for $25,000 recently, significantly helping their goal. Anderson and a team of about 50 volunteers keep “The Fosdick” operating smoothly.
This year’s Benefit BBQ Dinner takes place starting at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2 at The Intersection BBQ, Bar & Grill. The evening begins with social time, silent auction review, and a no host bar. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The traditional potluck dessert continues this year, so bring something delicious to share.
Sunday’s 40th Anniversary Fosdick Benefit Golf Tournament begins with 8:00 a.m. registration and continental breakfast is available. 9:00 a.m. you’ll hear the shotgun start. RSVP for lunch at $20 per person. Awards and lunch will be at 2:00 p.m.. All Sunday events will be at MeadowCreek Golf Resort.
All golf entry forms, hole sponsors, and auction item donations are due by Friday, July 25.
