Adams County Rodeo & Fair is Right Around the Corner
It’s just about time for the Fair and Rodeo! This weekend, the rodeo season kicks off in Adams County with the John Balderson Sr Memorial JR Rodeo, July 17 and 18. The Pre-Rodeo starts at 6:00 p.m. and the main events begin at 7.
Adams County Fair Week is also coming up, and runs July 20-25. Monday the 20, the Horse Show begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues through Tuesday. Wednesday, open class entries are being accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the Small Animal Show is at 9:00 followed by Round Robin. Livestock Judging starts at 4:00 and the Ag Olympics begins at 6:00. Thursday, open class judging is taking place in the morning, as is the Swine and Lamb Show. Friday, July 24, the Beef and Goat show are in the morning, followed by large animal Round Robin. There is also a community Bingo starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Saturday at the Fair kicks off with a 7:00 a.m. Pancake Potluck with the Market Animal Sale scheduled for 11:00 a.m. The Buyers Lunch will be following the sale.
This year at the fair there will also be an Adventure Zone open Thursday-Saturday with an obstacle course, bounce house combos, huge slides, and carnival style games.
The Adams County Rodeo runs July 23, 24, and 25. Pre-rodeo starts at 6:00 p.m. with the main event beginning at 7. On Friday night Dawson Moon will be performing after the Rodeo. Saturday, Kenny Fielder will be returning to Adams County to play. Both concerts are free with paid Rodeo admission.
