Last Tuesday night, July 9, the City Council met for their monthly meeting.

A quick report was given by Kathy Hughes regarding the Council Airport and covered the repairs and general upkeep of the property. Runway lights and the card swiper have been fixed and they are working on the transformer for the windsock. She also mentioned that the airport has been getting lots of visitors on the weekends.

Two actions were approved. One for Darin Coder for an access agreement easement and the other for a grant for an airport aid agreement.

There was a discussion with Ryan Idleman regarding a parcel he owns and the city requirements for his ag/ranch water usage. The requirements place a heavy burden on the city as well on him. Everyone was in agreement to the de-annex request.

Another discussion at the meeting was regarding noise levels in city limits. Noise should not exceed 70 decibels for safety reasons.

The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 6:30 p.m..
