Car Wash on HWY 95, Council, Open for Business

Boulder Car Wash in Council had a soft opening about five weeks ago, according to manager and co-owner Sean McMichael. “It’s been a long haul to get the car wash operational. And it’s been around six years since Council had a functioning car wash. But when it did finally open, hunters made for a brisk business,” he said.McMichael and his dad, Mike, and their families moved to the Council area about ten years ago, and they bought the unworking car wash two years ago. They had issues with the original company they hired to work on the car wash and ended up going with a different company out of Boise, and McMicheal said they are pleased with the quality of work done by the company that ended up doing the upgrading. Now, the credit card reader on the outside bay is working (they are still awaiting the arrival of the inside bay card reader) but the interior bay is still usable with cash.McMichael said they upgraded the car wash heating floor system, which prevents ice from forming, and upgraded the pump room. “Everything from the city water line has been replaced, including pumps, compressors, and hoses,” he said.A brand-new vacuum was installed on November 9th.McMichael said the outside bay can handle RV’s, semi-trucks, and campers, and both bays have several wash and rinse options including: a high efficiency pre-soak soap, and high-pressure soap and rinse. There is also a spray on wax option that can help protect a vehicle’s finish. Both wands and brushes are available. The wash costs $5.00 for five minutes, but you can use additional minutes at a cost of $1.00 per minute. The car wash is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. McMichael said the car wash will remain open throughout the winter. When McMichael is not manning the car wash or the accompanying RV Park, which he and his dad also own, he works as a general laborer.
