Council Mtn Farmers Market Kicks Off
On Friday, June 6th, the Council Mountain Farmers Market kicked off the growing season with the first farmers market of the year in Council. Located at the center of town, the first market was huge this year, boasting over 28 different vendors and community organizations with booths. There were many familiar faces as well as some newcomers to the market. There was a wide assortment of goods, ranging from honey and jams, to fresh produce and plant starts, to locally handcrafted items and more. Community organizations such as The Adams County Health Action Team (ACHAT) had set up a booth to give out information and the Adams County Sheriff’s Foundation was fundraising through their raffle. There was even face painting! Children were plentiful at the market and were running around and playing joyfully at the park while parents were shopping or selling their wares.
The Council Mountain Farmer Market runs the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. throughout the season. The next market will be on Friday, June 20th.
