Council School Board - Zone 1 Trustee Roundtree Resigns

The Council School Board held a special meeting on February 5th. Bob Grossen and Shawn Stanford were present with Mike Paradis participating by phone. Melissa Roundtree and Julie Pate were not present.

A motion was made, and approved, to reverse the last meeting’s decision to have Krissy Lamont manage the district’s superintendent search. (Lamont is a consultant working with the board from Building Better Boards) Stanford explained that this was a cost saving measure and that they had the capacity in house to manage the search for superintendent candidates. Both internal and external candidates will continue to be considered for the future superintendent of Council Schools.

Melissa Roundtree resigned her position as board member and trustee for Zone 1. The board members accepted this resignation. The district now has 90 days to  appoint someone from Zone 1 to serve the remainder of the term, after which normal elections for the Zone 1 seat would continue.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for February 20th.
