Last Tuesday afternoon the Idaho Museum of Natural History visited the Midvale library. The van opens with it’s display of 3D printed fossils which are the exact replicas of the real ones in the museum’s Pocatello office on the Idaho State University campus. The walls are covered with pictures of various dinosaurs. Instructor and driver, Pam Pascali of Pocatello, spends her entire year traveling around the state.

Idaho’s official dinosaur, the Oryctodromeus, was modeled in 3D outside the van. Some of the elementary classes were able to walk down to the library to see it and tour the van. There were 67 students, teachers and parents who came for the event.

Library director Suzanne Ash was on hand for her last days in that position. She is resigning after ten years to take on other employment. When asked about her favorite things about serving as librarian, she said, “I like interacting with all the people. And, of course, there’s all those new books.” She noted that there seemed to be an increase in the use of the audio books.
