Since it was a sunny breezy evening Monday night, the Midvale City Hall doors were kept open during the regular meeting. So it was that the mayor’s dog came in to sit with his master while the city conducted business. He heard about the following actions.

Approved was a park permit for a private graduation party in the Veteran’s Park on May 24. Also noted was the swap meet scheduled for Memorial Day weekend in the city park.

Idaho Materials & Construction was approved to do the work of the airport resurfacing.

The city is still trying to find a building inspector that will work with them. There was some discussion of perhaps using the same one as the city of Weiser.

Also on the list of needs is a new city attorney. Dan Chadwick of Emmett has been the city’s attorney for many years and has recently and unexpectedly passed away. He also served five other towns who are now needing to find new legal counsel.

The council approved funds to send clerk Mariah Johnson to the AIC conference on June 19-21. The Association of Idaho Counties provides up to date training and information.

The next regular meeting of the council will be June 10 at 7:00 p.m..
