Get Ready for the Washington County Fair

The Washington County fair dates are July 28th-August 2nd. On Monday the 28th is the horse show and starts at 8:00 a.m. at the rodeo grounds. Come so you can see some pretty horses and young talent. Later that evening we have the Dog show at 4:15 p.m., Come so you can see the best well behaved dogs in Washington County. The cloverbud show is at 6:15 p.m. You should come watch what the little kids have learned. They show rabbits, chickens, goats and sometimes dogs and cats.
On Tuesday the 29th the small animal show is at 12:00 noon, and the horse play day is at 7:30 p.m. Here you will find rabbits, turkeys, ducks, chickens, and cats. These kids show these small animals for market, showmanship and breeding projects.
On Wednesday the 30th is the swine show at 8:00 a.m. and the all goat show is at 2:00 p.m. The kids who bring pigs to fair focus on getting their pigs strong and fit so they look good for market. The goats will be shown as both breeding and market projects. These kids work with their goats every day feeding them treats and teaching them how to walk in an arena.
On Thursday the 31st is the sheep show at 8:00 a.m., the peewee sheep show and dairy cattle show is at 4:00 p.m. This is one of the funnest shows to watch because you see little kids showing very big animals.
On Friday the 1st is the beef show at 8:00 a.m. and the small animal round robin is at 3 p.m.
Here you will find the best of the best, battling for the title of Grande Champion.
Finally after a full week of hard work and hot days, we have the Market Sales on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Please come and support the kids at the sale. We work really hard to make the best meat for your freezer. We feed them good quality food, exercise them every day and pay close attention to their health. Each of us are saving this money for things like college, a jet boat, a car and cows. Then we all walk away knowing how to put meat in the freezer!
