Mayor Good reported that the Gold Line Transit system had a kickoff event and will now be running Monday through Friday, 8 times a day. The bus stops are at the Meadows Valley Public Library and Dorsey Warr Memorial Park.
Dust abatement will be put on the city streets at the end of the month. Please remove vehicles in the right of way.
The Farmer’s Market will be starting the last Saturday of June in the park.
The first discussion item was to review the Short-Term RV Use permit. The Council talked about maybe making a seasonal permit and making it very distinguishable between displacement and summer usage. City staff will research what other cities have in terms of these kinds of permits.
The Council also discussed the alley between Brown’s Park and Sell and the houses along the alley. Someone has inquired whether the city would sell the alley. After hearing public input from several of the citizens in the audience of 13 people about barricades, fire safety, drainage, having a buffer zone and utilities, the Council decided to fix the problems at hand and not to offer the alley for sale at this time.
A Public Hearing was held for a conditional use permit and design review for 400 Peterson Memorial Avenue. Ian Hoffman and Allison Munz, project managers, presented the design for the future daycare/ childcare/preschool/youth center which will be in the old recycle center building. They showed the plan for the windows, siding, outdoor play area, parking, drop off zone, and sidewalks. The audience voiced their questions and concerns.
The city approved the CUP and design review with conditions on traffic safety, crosswalks, dust abatement, and fire safety.
The Childcare/Preschool Project bid plan will be presented at the next City Council Meeting.
Another Action Item about Employee On Call Pay will be brought back at the next meeting to give council members time for consideration.
After an Executive Session the City Council approved the Consent Agenda.
The next meeting, which will include a public hearing will be June 24th, at City Hall, at 6:30 p.m..
