Heartland Backcountry Horsemen Breakfast Ride
On May 18th the Heartland Backcountry Horsemen group is hosting a public breakfast ride on the Weiser River Trail to kick off the summer season. We will meet 8:30 a.m. at the Seven Devils Café in Council. Those desiring to not join for breakfast should meet where the Weiser River Trail leaves the Highway 95 corridor a few miles South of Council across from the Council gun range. We plan to meet there with boots in the saddle at 10:30 a.m..
The mission of the Backcountry Horsemen of America is to perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America’s backcountry and Wilderness. The relatively small Heartland Chapter has been helping towards this mission for over thirty years where they have assisted the Forest Service with trail maintenance, trailhead development, County Fair exhibits, packing, backcountry horse care clinics, etc.
We welcome other horse enthusiasts to participate on this ride. You don’t need to be a current member to join the fun. Anyone with questions or desire more information can contact Al Becker at (208) 347-2346, or (208) 315-3627.
