Meadows Valley Communication & Happenings

After over a year of planning, New Meadows will be rolling out a Community Calendar. The CalendarWiz based schedule will be accessible to multiple organizations throughout Meadows Valley. Event listings can be categorized for easy searching to note things like holidays, family and kid activities, volunteer opportunities, arts, and business events.
The city held a training for interested parties on Wednesday, March 4 and Community Outreach Coordinator Stepheny Becker is reaching out to local organizers to ensure they can access the new calendar ahead of it going live.
Mayor Julie Good said the $300 per year cost of the longstanding project was paid for by a private donor who believed this was important for the community.
With Becker’s entrance to this new position, the city has revamped their Meadows Valley Monday newsletter. If you are not receiving a weekly dose of humor and New Meadows related information the new format provides, you can sign up on the city website https://www.newmeadowsidaho.us/ by clicking the “Newsletters” button. The city also provides text alerts. To sign up for this option, scan the QR code.
With Spring and Easter on their way, some annual activities are on the horizon. The New Meadows Parks & Rec Committee discussed the annual Easter Egg Hunt and egg stuffing gathering plans at their recent meeting on Monday, March 2nd. The annual egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at 11:30 a.m. outside Meadows Valley School. The school kids will be competing to gather candy for the hunt starting March 16. The class that gathers the most candy will earn a pizza party. Keep an eye out for egg stuffing party details.
Parks & Rec also finalized plans for the upcoming Youth Baseball season. Fliers and sign up forms are available at the school and at City Hall. More volunteers are always needed.
If you are interested in helping with fun city events like those mentioned above or those in the works, like the America 250 Celebrations, open mic and music events, or Youth Sports and live in Meadows Valley, the small but mighty Parks & Rec Committee is ready to welcome you. All appointments to the committee must be approved by the city council. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at The Depot.
