Meadows Valley School Recognizes Student Achievements

Meadows Valley held an all school assembly on Thursday, February 19 to celebrate student achievements in attendance and academics. Seven high school and eleven middle school students were recognized for their academic achievements.
The assembly began with school clap and some announcements including remarks from the 11th grade class on their current fundraisers. The juniors are raising money for their senior trip and prom with a “guess the weight” raffle where participants guess the weight of “school dog” Tammy as well as through bake sales at home basketball games.
Honor Roll certificates were awarded to students who finished the first semester with a grade point average of 3.50 - 3.99. High Honors were given to students who achieved a 4.0 GPA. For High School, students Elyjah Eckhart, Harper Hines, Dakoda Larimore, Jannette Montemira Flores, Skylee Radford, Mary Reynaga (High Honors), and Stephanie Top earned this certificate. For Middle School, High Honors were earned by Rogue Hines, Lilly Juica, Elliauna Larrea, Julian Norris, Maely Ott, and Aubrie Rhodes. Honor Roll certificates were earned by Desiree Cruz, Jayden Montemira Flores, Ryder Rautsaw, Boaz Reynaga, and Anthony Ruth. Great work students!
Recently, students in CTE Environmental and Natural Resource Class have been constructing their own ice fishing rods. On completion of this project, students were able to take a fishing trip to Lake Cascade to try out their new builds. More than a few fish were caught showing successful workmanship.
This week students are celebrating Spirit Week and FFA Week with dress up days, a special FFA assembly, and a teacher appreciation breakfast.
In sports, Mountaineer wrestlers Natalie Ruth, Gracie Howard, and Jannette Montemira Flores traveled to Boise for District Competitions. Ruth won her second match against Elysia Gallues of Payette.
High School track practice begins March 2 with Middle School practice starting up later in the month.
A Spring Literacy Night is planned at the school for Wednesday, March 11 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. The event is open to all families and will include food, literacy games, prizes, and take home gifts.
