Hello, my name is Mary Beth Schwartz. I have lived almost half of my life in Cambridge, on our farm on Pine Creek. My parents Frank and Mary Shirts, raised seven boys and three girls on this farm. The house that I currently live in was built for my Grandpa Ray Hutchinson in 1945 and the barn was built a year later. Even though I loved living in Cambridge, after high school I left for about 30 years. In those 30 years, I married my husband Frank, we raised a family of four, I graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Dietetics, became a Registered Dietitian, worked in Long Term Care and the WIC Program, sent our kids off to college and eventually returned to Cambridge to buy our family farm on Pine Creek.

Our time away took us 60 miles out of Los Angeles for five and a half years and then to Idaho Falls for 22 years, finally landing us back in Cambridge. All of our children are married and live in Idaho Falls, Seattle and Gold Beach, Oregon. We have one adorable little granddaughter, who we don’t see nearly enough. I have many hobbies and interests that I enjoy, including spending time with my husband, family, friends and pets, gardening, growing flowers, baking, doing jigsaw puzzles and Lego kits, DIY projects, spending time in the mountains, and walking with my amazing friends

I am excited to learn more about the people and events in our communities. I look forward to writing about all things that make the Cambridge and Midvale areas a fun and interesting place to live.
