2nd graders present their collected blankets to Meadows Valley Emergency Services.

The second grade class from Meadows Valley School has completed their blanket drive community project with great success. The students with their teacher Mrs. McIlvain delivered 27 blankets to Meadows Valley Emergency Services last Thursday, November 21. The class of eleven children walked cheerily down Commercial Street in light rain with two wagons each carrying a large bag of blankets. Fire Chief Doug Buys and FireFighter/EMT LeAndra Smith greeted the class with smiles, ‘thank yous’. Smith pulled out the ambulance for the class to see. As the students started walking back toward the school, one girl proclaimed a sentiment that sums up their project and is something we may have all felt at some point, ”Thank you for helping me!”
