The focus of my senior project was on improving mental health in our town. I helped bring a counselor to New Meadows and I hosted a week-long support group with fun activities that also taught youth about mental health. Jenny Iodko, a licensed counselor, helped me plan the events. I hope this project will inspire more mental health awareness.
Kelton Fisher
Meadows Valley High School senior Kelton Fisher recently volunteered at the McCall Fish Hatchery, gaining hands-on experience in fish conservation. He assisted with raising Chinook salmon, learning about the hatching process, feeding routines, and preparing fish for release into Idaho’s rivers and high mountain lakes. Fisher also explored the impact of hatcheries on native fish populations and the challenges salmon face due to dams. His work supports ongoing efforts to sustain Idaho’s fisheries and protect vital ecosystems
Cody Padgett
Cody Padgett, a senior at Meadows Valley High School, built a headache rack for his Ford pickup as his senior project. With help from a retired welder, he learned welding skills and safety techniques. Despite the cold weather, he finished the project and discovered a strong interest in welding.
Ian Rambo
The purpose of my project was to help the school by having more Chromebooks for students. I had experience fixing personal and family devices at home and had a mentor, Patrick McMahon of Council Computers who guided me through safe repair techniques. I fixed 25 Chromebooks at the school and diagnosed computers at the public library.
Talon Bock-Brown Rivas
For my project I choose to help my local children’s home, The Shepherd’s Home. I personalized bags, spent quality time, and organized drives. In the future I hope to continue to help.
Atreyu ‘Trey’ Solis
Trey’s project was helpful to the middle school and 5th grade students. He kept their instruments working. Trey had the ability to understand what was wrong with the instrument and fix it. Trey’s help was invaluable. Trey also had the talent of knowing how to produce good sound and his guidance with the saxophone sections helped the students improve! One of the middle school saxophone players hoped to be as good as Trey someday.
Kayla Top
Hello, my name is Kayla Top. For my senior project, I helped families in need in New Meadows during Christmas by organizing a food drive and gift donation program. With support from local businesses and community members, I provided food and presents to make their holiday special. This experience showed me the power of community and the impact of giving back.
