Laurel Sherman will be the swim instructor at the lessons held in the  Midvale pool this summer. The first session will be June 17-28. The  second will be July 8-19. Price per child is $50.00. Lessons will be  30-45 minutes depending on swim level, Monday through Friday.

Laurel can be texted at 208-550-2675 to register. Leave a message  indicating each child’s name, age, level of swim lesson if available,  parents name and phone number and which session to attend. If the  student is going into level 3 or above, he will need to purchase competition goggles. They must be competition to work  appropriately for the lessons. Recommended brands are TYR or Speedo.  They can be purchased on Amazon, Walmart, or Big Five.

Thank you for your patience since it takes so much time and energy to  organize these lessons. Students will be called before lessons begin to confirm times.

For 31 years the Midvale pool board has been fortunate to have Laurel  for the swim instructor. She has continued the local tradition of  teaching water safety to hundreds, probably thousands of local children, some from other towns and many who come to visit grandparents during these weeks. Before Laurel were other instructors, one of whom was Trish Widner, daughter of Sharon Widner of Midvale.  Although she was a teenager, she was firm with her students, expecting  them to learn how to be safe.
