It was a Friday afternoon spent by teenagers investing their time into warning adults not to provide liquor to minors. The Sticker Shock Campaign took place in the Midvale Tin Pan Deli November 10 where several girls were provided warning stickers which they placed on bags used by the liquor store for customers purchases. They also hand stamped hundreds of coffee cup collars with “988 Suicide & Crisis lifeline” to be distributed to coffee shops and restaurants. Students attending were Elizabeth, Kiley, Kadince, Addi, Emma and Reagan.

Sticker Shock was organized by Deidre Roundtree, director of the TriValley Community and Youth Co-op. She also invited the County Sheriff deputies to attend and two were there. They were Deputy Dean and Sgt. Thomason. Stickers were provided by Southwest Dist. Health and the event flyer listed Idaho Office of Drug Policy and the Idaho State Liquor Division as sponsors. She also mentioned that the Deli provided treats to the participants.

The Coop website says Deidre “ has experienced the lack of awareness around mental health struggles and wellness and available resources in rural communities. Deidre was inspired to become a professional resource and communications specialist in all surrounding communities.” The organization focuses on Indian Valley, Cambridge and Midvale youth.
