Tri-Valley has had a girl’s wrestling team for the past three years. The State of Idaho sanctioned girls wrestling in 2021. Before that time girls wrestled in the boys’ divisions. The 2024-25 Tri-Valley girls’ team members are Emma Ford, a sophomore, who wrestles at 107, Audry Winkles, a junior, who wrestles at 120, Charlee Noah, a freshman, who wrestles at 120, and Kali Waggoner, a freshman, who wrestles at 126. The girls have worked hard and have done well this season.

For the girls to qualify to go to state, the wrestler needs to place in the top five at the district tournament. District three is the largest girls district in the state, with all of the schools in the Treasure Valley competing. Out of the five spots available for state, three of those spots went to Tri-Valley girls. At district, Charlee Noah placed first and was the district three champion, Kali Waggoner placed third, and Audry Winkles placed fifth. Audry, a junior, has been wrestling for 3 years and has just missed going to state in the previous years. Everyone was really happy for her when she qualified this year.

For the girls’ state tournament, there is no designation of schools, there is one state championship. Charlee Noah, a freshman, placed second at state. Charlee’s finals match was against a girl from Lakeview.

Brittany Waggoner, the girls’ coach, was voted District Three Division 3-4A, Girl’s Coach of the Year. This is the second year in a row, that she has received this honor, which is voted on by all of the district three coaches. In addition, Trevor Smith was voted District Three Division 3-4A Girl’s Assistant Coach of the Year.
