Jace Waggoner - Champion @ 150lbs.

This year’s wrestling season has started off with great success for the Tri-Valley Titans! Three weeks into their jam-packed schedule, the Titans have already traveled over 600 miles to seek out the best competition possible. The season’s opening weekend consisted of the girls team attending the 6th Ardis Nash Memorial Tournament in Homedale, while the boys team traveled to Capital High School in Boise for the Golden Eagle Duals. Freshman Charlee Noah secured the Ardis Nash Championship at 120lbs that first weekend, kicking things off with a bang!

On the weekend of December 13th and 14th, Tri-Valley traveled to the Calhoun Classic in Nyssa, Oregon, an annual tradition for the team. In the boys division, the Titans placed two wrestlers at the close of the event: previous state placer, Junior Eli Noah placed 2nd at 175lbs and Junior Wyatt Moura placed 4th at 190bs. The girls division did not disappoint either with fierce match-ups, but the Lady Titans stepped to the line with no hesitation! Junior Audry Winkles placed 4th at 120lbs and Freshman Kali Waggoner brought home gold hardware as the 125lbs Calhoun Classic Champion.

This last weekend, December 20th and 21st, the Titans again took to the road, traveling to Twin Falls where they attended the Wiley Dobbs Tournament. It consisted of three separate tournaments, split between two locations: Varsity, Junior Varsity and Girls. The Titans did not disappoint with their first showing at the Wiley Dobbs! Schools attended ranged from 6A classification to our very special 1A Titans: the Varsity division included 24 teams, the JV division included 30 teams, and the Girls division included 25 teams. The Titans loaded the bus on Saturday afternoon to head home with several placers. Junior and previous state placer, Jace Waggoner stood at the top of the podium being crowned the 150lb Champion. He was joined by his teammates, Junior Eli Noah placing 2nd at 175lbs, Junior Elias DeVries placing 5th at 190lbs and Freshman Bill Avery placing 5th at 120lbs. The Lady Titans traveled three girls to Twin and placed two! Junior Audry Winkles and Freshman Kali Waggoner both made it to the finals and brought home 2nd place at the respective weight classes. The Junior Varsity tournament also had a Titan placer in Sophomore Kaden Nokes! Kaden fought his way to 3rd place at the 126 pound weight class.

The Tri-Valley Titans traveled to Glenns Ferry next, for an evening dual on Friday, December 27th and the Juston Wolfe Memorial Tournament on Saturday, December 28th.
