Upper Country Singers Gearing Up for 2024 Concert
The Upper Country Singers will begin rehearsals for their annual Christmas performance on Monday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Midvale School Community room. Any interested singers are encouraged to join. No auditions or previous choir experience is required.
The group has been in existence in one form or another for many years in the Upper Country. However, choir members now travel from Council, Mesa, Indian Valley, Cambridge, Midvale, and Weiser. For over fifteen years, the Singers have performed their Christmas concert in the Cambridge Exhibit Hall to large appreciative crowds. The choir has also performed selections at other holiday events.
This year’s theme is “Joyful Expectation”. The choir will sing arrangements of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, “It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas” and “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”, along with many others. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, December 8 at 3:00 p.m..
The Upper Country Children’s Choir will also begin rehearsals on Friday, September 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the Midvale Community Baptist Church. This rehearsal will include a parent planning meeting for the season’s rehearsal schedule. The children will sing alongside the adult choir, and also perform their own dances and songs.
