Upper Country Singers Holiday Concert

It’s that time again to celebrate the Christmas season with joyful music and songs. And what better way than to come to the free concert presented by the Upper Country Singers for their annual Christmas show!
The Upper Country Singers welcome all to attend their concert Sunday, December 8, at 3:00 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds exhibit hall in Cambridge. This year’s theme of “Joyful Expectation” will be presented through such song favorites as, “It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas”, “Goin’ To Bethlehem”, and “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. The audience may feel free to sing with the choir in the masterpiece from Handel’s The Messiah, the exhilarating, “Hallelujah Chorus”. Thirty-five choir members will be joined by a children’s choir, guest soloists, and instrumentalists to delight and warm the audience with such fun loving songs as, “I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas”.
Many hours of practicing the music and preparation of the exhibit hall go into making the afternoon a beloved and not-to-be-missed event. The choir members are under the direction of Debbie Warren (now in her fifteenth year of directing the choir) and have been working diligently since early September.
Besides a most excellent musical performance, the audience will enjoy a beautifully decorated venue and delicious refreshments, all provided by the choir, family members, and friends.
Singers come from Council, Mesa, Indian Valley, Cambridge, Midvale, Mann Creek and Weiser to make up this truly extraordinary community choir. The Upper Country Singers have been in existence for many years in one form or another, and the concert has grown in popularity and scope in recent times.
Everyone is invited to this free and fun afternoon of Christmas music and holiday cheer. Donations are very much appreciated to ensure that the choir may continue to entertain for many years to come.
