Another week is almost over, which means winter is one week closer. I’m not ready for winter, are you? Luckily, some good weather days will be ahead before winter sets in, so I still have time, if I don’t drag my feet and get ‘er done.
I must list all the chores I need to accomplish before winter sets in. As I’ve gotten older, I rely on lists to keep me on track. I know I’m not the only one who does this, so I don’t compare myself with others, but I do compare myself with earlier versions of myself.
I’ve always considered “Old Age” a season of losses. We lose a little ground in our middle-aged years, but the losses become more pronounced when we hit old age. I don’t like this stage of my life very well. It seems hard to do everything I used to do with ease. I’m not complaining, although it might appear that way. I’m waxing philosophical.
It’s time to move on to lighter topics. Our next Foot Clinic is on Monday, October 27th. Appointments are needed, so please call (208) 257-3358 if you are interested in attending. Then, on Wednesday, October 29th, Brad Talbutt from SHIBA will be here to talk with us about changes to Medicare in 2026. He will also have individual appointments available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in an appointment, please call (208) 247-4422. I hear from folks that the line is always busy, but don’t give up, keep calling.
Our Split the Pot Fundraiser is off to a slow start, but the last one started slow as well. The tickets are $1 each. The fundraiser runs through Saturday, November 15th. The drawing for the winner will be during our Souper Supper Fundraiser on November 15th. That fundraiser will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The winner will be notified after the drawing if they aren’t in attendance.
The Souper Supper Fundraiser will feature several different kinds of homemade soups and freshly-baked breads. I don’t think a price has been set as yet, but I will let you know before we start advertising for the event, so stay tuned for progress reports.
