On February 17, 2025 at 3:50 a.m., Adams County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Council area. When the deputy attempted contact with the driver, he fled the scene and it resulted in a vehicle pursuit. The chase ended in the New Meadows area when the driver fled on foot. He was then apprehended without incident a short time later.
Otten, James 49 of Coeur D’Alene was charged with felony possession of controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, felony attempt to elude a police officer and reckless driving. Otten was transported to Adams County Jail for booking.
