Are you ready for the big cool down? From what I’m reading, on my weather apps, for the next week or so and we will once again be bombarded with freezing daytime temperatures and even colder nighttime ones. Brrrrrrr! I was getting used to the balmy mid-30 temperature ranges.
Well, we have just the thing to warm you up here at Seniors. We have Chair Yoga starting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our first class is on February 11th at 10:30 a.m. I hope you can join us. Movement is great for getting the blood circulating and warming you up.
Then, on Thursday, February 13th, we’ll be having our Valentine’s Bake sale from 4 to 7:00 p.m. You can warm up inside as you peruse the many sweet offerings for your special someone! We will even provide hot coffee, tea, or chocolate before sending you back into the cold as you head for home.
Last but not least is our Baked Potato Bar fundraiser. It is on February 28th from 5 to 7:00 p.m.. We will have Idaho Baked Potatoes, Chili con carne, Shredded cheese, Olives, Sour Cream, Bacon Bits, Guacamole, Green Onions, Pickled Jalapenos (?), and more. Proceeds from this meal will support our senior center programs. Best of all, the cost is only $12 per person. Children under 12 will be $6, and children under five will be $3. Join us for a great feed, and say goodbye to February!
Menus: Friday, February 14: Chili con Carne, Corn Bread, Salad, Mixed Fruit, and dessert. Wednesday, February 19: Baked Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, Salad, Broccoli/Cauliflower, Wheat Rolls, Apricots, and Pumpkin Blondie Brownies. Friday, February 21: Pizza! Combination, Chicken Alfredo or Canadian Bacon with Pineapple. Tossed Green Salad, Apricots, and Dessert.
I wish I could be a bear in February; all I want to do is sleep. Zzzzzz... I keep reminding myself that Spring is on the way. Zzzzz... Spring is on the way!
