I just finished all of my month-end reports, and it’s such a relief to have those out of the way.
For those of you who haven’t heard, we did get approved for the block grant we applied for. I’m not sure what the next steps are in the process, but when Sandra McKee gets back from vacation this week, I will be checking in with her to see what comes next. Our next step is to begin securing our portion of the matching funds.
In the meantime, we are all pretty darn happy around here. Yay, Cambridge Midvale Goodrich Senior Center!
In May, we will be playing Bingo on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Everyone is welcome, bring your kids, and make it a family affair! We are also starting a “Split the Pot” fundraiser on May 4th, which will go through Friday night, June 5th! I’m sure the drawing will be held that evening, but I don’t have all the details yet. I hope to have those by next week. And last but not least, we have a silent auction starting on May 4th and running through June 5th. We will have some very interesting things for you to look through and fall in love with.
Our All-You-Can-Eat “Hells Canyon Days Taco Feed” will be on June 5th from 4 to 7 pm. It’s a month away, but I just wanted to wet your whistle for some great tacos with all the trimmings. More information to come next week.
Menu: Friday, May 8th: Chipped Beef on Toast (SOS, a favorite of WWII), Roast Vegetables, Peaches, Salad, Cherry cheesecake Dessert. Wednesday, May 13: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Rice, Green Beans, Wheat Roll, Garden Salad, Pears, and No Bake Cookies. Friday, May 15th: Taco Soup, Corn Bread, Coleslaw, Fruit, and dessert.
