Left Behind

Do you know the feeling of being left behind? Everyone else has gone somewhere, and all of a sudden you are left behind? Or have you been the one that got to go somewhere, and you had to watch as friends or family were left behind because they weren’t able to go? It’s not a good feeling. But this is something that is going to happen. God gave us a promise in the Bible. Matthew 24:40-42 says, “Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill’ one will be taken, the other left. “So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.””

Are we really watching, looking, and ready to meet the Son of Man, Jesus? And if we are, which ones of our family or friends will be left behind? Will it be a husband or wife, kids or grandkids, or the best friend that you do everything with? If you know Jesus as Lord and Savior and haven’t shared Him with your family and friends, it might be!

Matthew 24:37-39 says, “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.”

This is God’s word and a promise for those that know and trust Jesus as Savior. Every day, we are a day closer to people we know and love being left behind if we aren’t willing to share the Gospel, the Good News, of Jesus Christ our Savior with them.
