Part Time Cook Wanted

Nancy Shwartz
July 15, 2026

We had a great turn out for our July 4th fundraiser lunch. Thank you to all that came out and supported us. We drew our 50/50 raffle winner at 2:00 p.m. that day. Congrats to Darcie on the win. She also donated most of the money back to the Center.

Our quilt raffle is still going on. We will draw it on July 31st at 12:30 p.m. so there is still time to buy your tickets. The cost is $1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5. The quilt was donated by Jo Ubina Smith. Thank you Jo for your generous donation! We have the quilt displayed at the Center.

We are currently looking for a cook. The position is part time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (23 hours per week). If interested, please stop by or call for a job description.

We serve lunch at 12 noon on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. For Take-Out Meals, please call in your order by 10:00 a.m. and pick up is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you are ordering multiple meals, please try and call in the day before. The July Menu can be picked up at the Center.

The menu for the coming week: Friday July 17th: Cod, Tater Tots, Bread, Cole Slaw, Fruit, and Dessert. Tuesday July 21st: Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy, Mixed Vegetables, Roll, Green Salad, Fruit, and Dessert. Wednesday July 22nd: BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Fruit, and Dessert.

Our next Bingo is on July 17th. I know we originally were going to have it on the 24th but that is the Rodeo weekend. The Blackout pot is up to $130 and Jared will be calling 58 numbers. For new players, folks start showing up around 6:30 p.m. or after and Jared starts calling at 7:00 p.m. It costs a quarter per card, and you can play as many cards as you want. The last game is the blackout game and it costs $1.00 per card. Please call me at the Center (208) 253-4282) if you have any questions. Thank you to all who come out and support us.

The next foot clinic is on July 20th. If you have questions please call the foot clinic phone number: (208) 986-0759. That is a dedicated line just for the foot clinic. It will answer St. Luke’s Foot Clinic. You can also text to this number. The clinic fills up fast so be sure to call ahead to get on the list.

We would like to give a great big THANK YOU to all the folks and businesses that have made donations to us. We really appreciate it! We are truly blessed to live in a small rural community that cares!

That is all for now. Stay safe and well!!
